Ayato Matsumae (松前 綾人 Matsumae Ayato) is the husband of Satsuki Matsumae and the father of Ohana Matsumae who was a photographer that it inspired Satsuki to be an editor.

He first appears in flashbacks in the movie Hanasaku Iroha: Home Sweet Home.

Etymology[]

  • The name Ayato means "figure, design" (綾) (aya) and "person" (人) (to).
  • Ayato's surname Matsumae means "pine tree, fir tree" (松) (matsu) and "previous/previously, before, earlier, front/in front, former, above, one-time, fore part, privy parts/privates, miss, presence, portion, for, since, forward" (前) (mae).

Trivia[]

  • Like Seiji Shijima, Ayato died for an unknown reason when Ohana Matsumae was a baby.
    • It is unknown how Ayato died, but it is possible that he died from an accident or an illness.
